With big name free agents sitting quietly, perhaps in anticipation of what LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony will do, the Atlanta Hawks have reportedly been active in pursuing free agent guard Kent Bazemore. Earlier in the process, the Hawks were reportedly the first team to reach out to the former Los Angeles Laker, and now, there are indications that Atlanta has been in consistent communication.
The Hawks continue to show interest in Kent Bazemore, per sources. They have reached out to Bazemore's camp several times and like the UFA.

It is important to note that the 25-year-old Bazemore has been linked to as many as six teams including the Spurs, Mavericks, and Suns, but the repeated rumblings could indicate some real fire here. Still, the Danny Ferry-led Hawks are notoriously quiet in their own dealings, leaving a great deal of interpretation as to whether this information is coming exclusively from the Bazemore camp.
At 6-foot-5, Bazemore is an explosive athlete, but in the past, he has operated as more of a combo guard than a pure swingman. It is entirely possible that Ferry and Mike Budenholzer see a high-end athlete who could be unearthed as a diamond in the rough (a la DeMarre Carroll), but for anything but a low cost pick-up, this would be a bit vexing.
