2014 WNBA: Dream look to keep winning streak alive against banged up Sky

The Atlanta Dream return home looking to keep their winning streak alive when they take on the banged up Chicago Sky.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Dream are riding a three-game winning streak and look to finish off a back-to-back with a win over the Chicago Sky on Sunday. The Dream scored an impressive 93-74 road win over Indiana on Saturday behind 21 points from Tiffany Hayes. Atlanta has won 8 of 10 and has opened up a commanding lead in the Eastern Conference.

There was a point this season when the Chicago Sky looked like they could be a contender in the East if they could just get healthy. They are still trying to get healthy and will most likely be without starters Elena Delle Donne and Courtney Vandersloot on Sunday. Delle Donne isn't expected to return until after the All-Star break as she continues to recover from a flare up of Lyme disease. Vandersloot is out with a knee injury.

Early on it was Sylvia Fowles who was out of the lineup for the Sky but she has returned and along with Epiphanny Prince are trying to keep Chicago above water.

Atlanta and Chicago have split two meetings this season but the Dream set a franchise record for margin of victory in a 97-59 win in early June. Hayes led five different players in double figures in Indiana on Saturday and Atlanta won despite a quiet game from Angel McCoughtry who scored all 11 of her points in the first half.

Chicago has lost four straight and has dropped to fifth in the East standings with an 8-12 record.
