2014 WNBA: Dream go for home-and-home sweep of Fever

The Atlanta Dream go for their third straight win Tuesday night against the Indiana Fever in a nationally televised matchup on ESPN2.

While the NBA's free agency period is in full swing, Atlanta's other pro basketball team continues to roll. The Atlanta Dream have won two straight and eight of their last nine outings to climb comfortably atop the Eastern Conference Standings. They look for a home-and-home sweep against the Indiana Fever Tuesday night in a nationally televised matchup on ESPN2.

Atlanta finished Sunday's game with an 11-0 run sparked by Angel McCoughtry to claim a 76-68 win in Indiana. McCoughtry finished with 20 points as the Dream moved to 2-1 in the season series.

That lone loss however is the Dream's only miscue at Philips Arena where Atlanta is 7-1 on the season. Indiana has lost four straight overall and are 6-9 on the season.

Head Coach Michael Cooper continues to search for the best combination for the Dream. Point guard Celine Dumerc made her first start of the season on Sunday and finished with four points and four assists in just over 19 minutes. Cooper had promised that Dumerc would likely move into the starting lineup after she got acclimated to the team after arriving late from Europe.

Starting Dumerc gives Cooper a pair of ball handlers to bring off the bench in Jasmine Thomas and Shoni Schimmel. Thomas has made some big shots during the young season but she isn't shooting the ball all that great at 37 percent. She is probably more suited to play the off guard position but is Atlanta's best option defensively in the back court.
