Atlanta Hawks make Lou Williams trade official

The Atlanta Hawks have officially announced the trade of Lou Williams and the draft rights to Lucas Nogueira to Toronto in exchange for John Salmons and a 2015 second-round pick.

The Atlanta Hawks have officially confirmed the trade of Lou Williams and the rights to 2013 first-round pick Lucas Nogueira to the Toronto Raptors for John Salmons and a 2015 second-round pick. The trade was first reported on Sunday but was announced by the team officially on Monday night.

"The trade allows us greater flexibility as we continue to build our team and add players that best fit how we want to continue to grow as a program." said Danny Ferry. "Lou has been really good for us. We would like to thank him for his contributions over the past two seasons and the professionalism he displayed on and off the court. We wish him the best going forward."

Salmons have one year remaining on his deal worth $7 million however only $1 million is guaranteed. He originally had a midnight deadline on June 30 but he and the Hawks have reportedly agreed to extend that waiver deadline to July 10.
