Salmons was acquired in a trade on Sunday in exchange for Lou Williams and Lucas Nogueira. Salmons is on the books for $7 million this season but only $1 million is guaranteed. The move is currently pending league approval but the Hawks are still expected to waive Salmons before the new deadline.
Nevertheless, the Hawks still aren't expected to keep John Salmons past the new deadline, league source tells RealGM.

Not exactly sure why for the delay. The Hawks still haven't officially announced the trade of Williams and Nogueira for Salmons. We will update when more information becomes available.
