Dream to scrimmage Chinese, Australian national teams

The Atlanta Dream is in the midst of training camp and will scrimmage the Chinese and Australian national teams this week.

Training camp rolls on for the Atlanta Dream as they began three straight days of scrimmages against the Chinese and Australian National teams on Sunday. Swish Appeal's James Bowman was in attendance on Sunday and captured this video from courtside at the Philips Arena practice court.

Significant because these scrimmages are the first glimpse at what the Michael Cooper led Dream will look like. According to Bowman, the teams played five 10-minute quarters on Sunday. The two teams will meet again on Monday and the Dream will scrimmage with Australia on Wednesday.

Per Bowman's report, Atlanta won the scrimmage 88-72 but be sure to click through for his write up as he includes plenty of observations about Cooper and the team.

Other Dream notes:

The Dream waived Khaalidah Miller, Rebekha Gardner and Chelsea Hopkins on Sunday. Atlanta now has 18 players on their training camp roster.

Atlanta will play a preseason game on Sunday at Philips Arena against the New York Liberty. The regular season will open on Friday, May 16 against the San Antonio Stars also at Philips Arena.
