The Atlanta Hawks figure to have several options available to them in the 2014 NBA Draft. Pro Basketball Talk's Kurt Helin brings up a name that we haven't talked about a lot in Michigan State shooting guard Gary Harris.
15) Atlanta - Gary Harris, G, Michigan State
I consider Harris to be the best shooting guard prospect in this class, but I can see teams looking at other options ahead of him, so he falls here to Atlanta. Harris will be able to provide some scoring and defense right away for the Hawks, but the real payoff could come long-term as he continues to hone his skills. Tremendous value if they can get him at number 15.
Harris' stock appears to have slid somewhat due to measuring out at just over 6'2" without shoes at the combine. He still checked in at 6'4" with shoes but he is likely going to have to rebuild some of his stock with some strong workouts. He played much bigger while at Michigan State and as Helin points out, is one of the best shooting guard prospects in the draft.
DraftExpress.com cites his shooting touch, defense and exceptional basketball IQ as strengths. He doesn't possess overwhelming athleticism and isn't as explosive as other prospects.
