The Atlanta Hawks look to inch a step closer to the playoffs on Sunday when they take on the Indiana Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Hawks enter play on Sunday with a one game advantage over the New York Knicks who play in Miami during the afternoon.
Atlanta has gone 1-2 against the Pacers this season but have struggled mightily on the road. The Hawks enter today's game have lost 13 of their last 15 away from Philips Arena and six straight in Indiana counting last season's playoffs. Atlanta came up with one of their better performances of the season in Friday's 117-98 blowout win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Mike Scott led the way with 26 points off the bench while Jeff Teague logged a double-double in the victory.
Its been a struggle of late for the Pacers who have dropped seven of 10 and six straight on the road. Their three wins over that 10 game stretch all came at home but weren't exactly in impressive fashion. Indiana has fallen behind the Miami Heat in the East standings after holding onto the top spot for most of the season.
Atlanta has seven regular season games remaining counting Sunday's matchup with the Pacers. They have a two game edge in the loss column over the Knicks and currently hold all of the tiebreakers against New York.
