Lucas Nogueira wasn't a huge factor on Sunday for Estudiantes but it was nice to see the big man back on the court. Nogueira logged 10 minutes and finished with four points and one rebound in an 85-84 loss to UCAM Murcia on Sunday.
It was the first action for Nogueira in nearly three weeks since he returned to Spain. He logged 14 minutes and finished with eight points and five rebounds back on March 2nd in a win over Bilbao. He missed the next two contests and didn't travel with the team for a road contest against CB Canarias. He was listed as a DNP-CD for last weekend's game against Laboral Kutxa.
Nogueira has battled injury throughout this season. He's appeared in just eight games for Estudiantes this season and is averaging 5.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in 16.1 minutes per outing. Nogueira left the team and traveled to the United States to have his aching knees evaluated. He returned to Spain after several weeks of rest and rehabilitation.
The Atlanta Hawks acquired Nogueira in a draft day trade with the Dallas Mavericks. He took part in Atlanta's entry in the Las Vegas Summer League last summer and is expected to do so again this season.
