Al Horford has teamed up with Pau Gasol, Tyson Chandler, Serge Ibaka, Thabo Sefolosha and Joakim Noah in the "No Hype" campaign. "No Hype," a collaboration between NBA Cares and WildAid, is a campaign aimed at reducing the demand for ivory and rhinoceros horn products. Check out the campaign video below:
Horford said before Thursday's win over the Bucks that he felt inspired to join the cause after going on a safari in South Africa with Basketball Without Borders last summer.
"That was a life changing experience for me. We got a chance to go out on a safari, and being out there a week, it just changes your life. It's probably the best trip I've done, and being there that close to nature and getting to talk to a lot of locals, and seeing all the problems they're having with poaching and stuff like that. When the NBA brought it to me, I was very passionate about it. I said, 'Yeah, I wanna do something about it. I wanna create awareness about that.' "
