Hawks vs Pelicans preview: Atlanta looks for bounce back win in New Orleans

The Atlanta Hawks look for a season-best fourth straight win on the road when head to New Orleans to take on Anthony Davis and the Pelicans.

The Atlanta Hawks look to bounce back from a tough loss at home against the Indiana Pacers when they take on Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans Wednesday night. Atlanta has gone 5-5 over its last 10 but had won two straight before Tuesday's loss. The Hawks are currently riding a season best three-game winning streak on the road.

Atlanta's offense bottomed out against the Pacers before the reserves led a comeback in the fourth. The Hawks ended up shooting 43 percent for the game but were under 40 for most of the night and scored just 12 points in the third quarter. Paul Millsap has been Atlanta's catalyst but he was held to seven points on 2-11 shooting against the Pacers.

If a team can relate to the injury issues that the Hawks have dealt with it is certainly New Orleans. The Pelicans are already without Jrue Holiday and Ryan Anderson and Tyreke Evans is doubtful to play Wednesday night after suffering a rib injury in Monday's loss to the Spurs.

Anthony Davis continues to sparkle in his second season in the league averaging 20.4 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.4 blocks while shooting better than 51 percent from the floor. He finished with 17 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks in Monday's loss but was just 6-17 from the floor and was also saddled with five turnovers.

Tip off from New Orleans Arena is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.
