The Atlanta Hawks have released Dexter Pittman presumedly to make room for Mike Muscala.

The Atlanta Hawks have announced that they have released Dexter Pittman via a team press release. Pittman was signed to a 10-day contract on Saturday and appeared in two games.

The move clears a roster spot that will go to Mike Muscala who left his Spanish club earlier this week after the Hawks worked out a buyout arrangement.

Pittman was called up from the Austin Toros of the NBA D-League. He was originally drafted by the Miami Heat and had also spent some time with the Memphis Grizzlies. He was signed to help provide some depth to Atlanta's frontcourt which has been decimated with injuries.
