Rio Natura Monbus has issued a statement confirming that they have reached a buyout agreement with the Atlanta Hawks for Mike Muscala.
The Rio Natura Monbus, Atlanta Hawks and Mike Muscala have reached an agreement by which the player becomes part of the American team.
The player, who was coach in the past NBA draft by Dallas Mavericks in the second round (44th pick) signed for one season with the Galician club last summer. In the 20 games he has played under coach Moncho Fernández, center has averaged 14.6 points and 7.8 rebounds to 16.9 valuation.
The Rio Natura Monbus publicly thanked Mike Muscala, who received permission from the club to travel to the United States and the dedication shown in the five months that has defended the obradoirista shirt and wishes him well in the future of his promising career.
President (Raúl López) and the CEO (José Luis Mateo) Natura Monbus Rio will offer a press conference Tuesday at 18:30 pm in the Multipurpose Fontes do Sar, to address this situation.
At last report, Muscala was headed to Atlanta from Spain. A source close to the situation confirmed to Peachtree Hoops this morning that Muscala was coming to Atlanta to sign with the Hawks. The club has made no announcement of any pending roster move.
