In the aftermath of the Hawks requesting waivers on Jared Cunningham, the team reportedly didn't wait long in filling his roster spot.

Chris Vivlamore of the AJC is reporting that the Hawks have signed center Dexter Pittman to a 10-day contract, and in addition, he is reporting that Pittman WILL be available for Saturday night's game against the Knicks. The 25-year-old Pittman played his collegiate ball at Texas and has spent time in the NBA for 3 seasons with both the Miami Heat and the Memphis Grizzlies.
In the short term, this is a much needed addition of size to the embattled frontcourt, and Pittman's availability for Saturday is huge in the absence of Paul Millsap. Pittman has posted career averages of 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds per game (in 48 career appearances), but regardless of that production level, he is listed at 6-foot-11 and 285 pounds, and anyone with those measurables is a welcome addition at the moment.
Update:
The Hawks have confirmed the signing and that he is available to play in tonight's matchup against the Knicks via team press release.
