Jeff Teague, DeMarre Carroll make trip with Hawks to Detroit

Both Jeff Teague (ankle) and DeMarre Carroll (hamstring) made the trip with the Atlanta Hawks to Detroit and will have their status updated prior to Friday's game.

The Atlanta Hawks cleared one hurdle today on the injury front. Both Jeff Teague and DeMarre Carroll traveled with the team to Detroit although their status against the Pistons won't be determined until sometime on Friday.

Carroll has missed the last three games with a hamstring injury. He was listed as a game-time decision on Tuesday and Wednesday but was unable to give it a go. His absence leaves a gaping hole in Atlanta's perimeter defense. Its not a coincidence that Atlanta is 1-6 when Carroll is out of the lineup.

Teague was injured during the fourth quarter of Wednesday's loss to the Washington Wizards. He was injured on a drive in which he landed on Marcin Gortat's foot and rolled his ankle. Teague immediately left the game and limped to the locker room area. The severity of the injury isn't known but that he was able to travel is a good sign.

If Carroll and Teague are able to play Atlanta would have nine players available against the Pistons. The Hawks made a deal on Thursday for Antawn Jamison but its unknown whether or not he will join the team in Detroit. Atlanta could also recall Jared Cunningham from Bakersfield of the NBA D-League to provide another body but have not announced such a move yet.
