Hawks Make Antawn Jamison Trade Official

Spruce Derden-USA TODAY Sports

The Hawks officially announced and confirmed that they have acquired Antawn Jamison from the Clippers in exchange for the draft rights of Cenk Akyol, who is currently playing in Turkey.

The Hawks cleared Cartier Martin, on the last day of his second 10-day contract, to make room for Jamison. This doesn't mean that Jamison will necessarily play for the Hawks, as GM Danny Ferry told media.

"We’ll look at Antwan over the next couple of days and decide if it’s the best fit for each other. Regarding Antwan, I have personal experience with him from the year we were together in Cleveland. He was, and always has been, the ultimate professional and high-class guy. That is his trademark within the NBA. He really is a gentleman."
