Adreian Payne and John Jenkins continued their D-League assignment with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants Thursday night in a 110-106 loss to the Maine Red Claws.
Payne appears to be rounding into form after finishing with 18 points and 12 rebounds on 6-11 shooting from the field. He finished a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line. Payne was admittedly rusty early on in his assignment but looks like he is regaining his form.Jenkins continued his solid stretch with 17 points on an efficient 6-8 shooting night.
Dahntay Jones and Andre Emmett also finished with 18 points each while Wizards assignee Glen Rice Jr. added 17.
Maine was led by Celtics first round pick James Young who finished with a game-high 31 points. Boston also assigned Marcus Smart to the Red Claws to knock off some rust after missing an extended period with an ankle injury. Smart struggled however, going 1-12 from the field and finished with just six points in 28 minutes.
Fort Wayne is back in action again on Saturday when they travel to Ohio to take on the Canton Charge.
