The Atlanta Hawks continue to make full use of the NBA's Development League, and in the process, they remain at the forefront with how to navigate the league's rules. On Tuesday, the team announced that shooting guard John Jenkins would be sent to the Idaho Stampede, while 2014 first round pick Adreian Payne would be assigned to the Austin Spurs as a result of the flexible assignment rule.

Payne made his first NBA appearance over the weekend, debuting against the Milwaukee Bucks, and in his time in the D-League, he has been effective, averaging 13.4 points and 8.8 rebounds per game in 28.4 minutes per contest. In the case of Jenkins, he has spent more time with the NBA club, but in his five previous appearances in the D-League, the sharpshooter is averaging 19.4 points on 59.4% shooting.

The Hawks will host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night at Philips Arena.
