Jeff Teague injury: Hawks guard to miss 3rd straight game with strained hamstring

The Atlanta Hawks will be without starting point guard Jeff Teague for the third straight game due to a strained hamstring.

Jeff Teague will miss his third straight game with a strained hamstring per a report by the AJC's Chris Vivlamore.

There initially was some hope that Teague would be able to return to action on Monday. SportSouth's Andre Aldridge reported on Saturday that Teague was hopeful that he would be able to play against the Mavericks. With Atlanta back at home on Tuesday against the Clippers and then off until Friday, it would be a bit foolish to rush Teague back. If he was able to return to action against the Clippers he would get a couple of days off to recover before playing again on Friday.

Dennis Schröder will make his thirst straight start at the point for the Hawks while Shelvin Mack will get the back up minutes off the bench. There will be a lot of pressure on the backcourt as they try to slow down Dallas' new look backcourt featuring Rajon Rondo and Monta Ellis.
