Adreian Payne finished with 18 points and nine rebounds in 31 minutes as the Austin Spurs extended their winning streak to 10 straight games with a 136-128 win over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
Payne spent a bit of the first half on the bench in foul trouble but put up a solid line going 7-12 from the floor. He did most of his work on the boards early and six of his nine rebounds came on the offensive end of the floor.
As you can see from Payne's shot chart, he did most of his damage on the interior. It looks like he has improved his touch around the basket and looked much more comfortable in the post on a couple of different possessions. His athleticism is still off the charts as he went up high for several rebounds. Defensively, he appears to still be figuring out proper positioning.
Austin won't play again until December 27 when they open a two-game road trip in Sioux Falls.
