Mike Muscala and Adreian Payne were both in action in the D-League Friday night and helped their respective teams to victories.
Muscala was assigned to the D-League on Friday for what is expected to be a one-game assignment with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. He played well finishing with 18 points and 11 rebounds in 32 minutes off the bench. Muscala finished just 4-13 from the field but made up for it at the free throw line where he was 10-10. Fort Wayne defeated the Westchester Knicks 113-96 to improve to 7-7 on the season.
In three games with the Mad Ants this season Muscala is averaging 15 points and 9.7 rebounds. He is shooting 48 percent from the field and is 17-20 from the free throw line.
Payne remains on assignment with the Austin Spurs due to the NBA's flexible assignment rule. He finished with six points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals in Friday's 115-105 win over the Canton Charge. The Spurs lead the D-League's Southwest Division with a 9-3 record.
In four games with Austin, Payne is averaging 12 points and 10.4 rebounds on 47 percent shooting. In 10 D-League games overall, Payne is averaging 13 points and 11 rebounds on 43 percent shooting.
