Gran Canaria fell to 1-3 on in the Liga Endesa on Sunday with a 74-67 loss to Unicaja. Atlanta Hawks second round pick Walter Tavares played 27 minutes and finished with six points, seven rebounds and two blocks. Tavares came into Sunday's game averaging 7.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and two blocks in Liga Endesa play. Tavares logged a double-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds in an 80-61 loss to FC Barcelona last week.
Gran Canaria is also playing in the 2014-15 Eurocup and is currently 2-0. Tavares has been solid in both games averaging 7.5 points per game on 58 percent shooting. He also averaging nine rebounds per game and has blocked five shots in the two games.
Tavares and Gran Canaria will continue their Eurocup schedule on Wednesday against Dijon. They will take on Andorra in ACB play next Sunday.
Fellow Hawks' draft pick Lamar Patterson is also participating in international competition in Turkey. Tofas fell to 1-1 with an 88-81 loss to Selcuk University on October 18. Patterson is averaging 6.5 points per game on 50 percent shooting from the field. Tofas will take on Anadolu Efes on Monday and Fenerbahce Ulker on Saturday.
