The Atlanta Hawks wrapped up their 2014-15 preseason schedule Wednesday night with a 117-107 road win over the San Antonio Spurs.
Atlanta took control in the second and third quarters as they outscored San Antonio 78-49. Atlanta led 53-48 at the half and exploded for 42 points in the third quarter to extend their lead to 21 points. The fourth quarter has caused Atlanta some heartaches during the preseason but the reserves were able to close it out and hold on for the win.
Jeff Teague led five different Hawks' players in double figures with 21 points. Kyle Korver hit six three-pointers on his way to 18 points. Paul Millsap got to the free throw line 10 times and finished with 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Tony Parker led San Antonio with 17 points while Boris Diaw added 11.
Atlanta's offense was in midseason form as they knocked down 52 percent of their field goal attempts including 12-25 shooting from three-point range. Assists are always an indicator for just how good Atlanta's ball movement was and the Hawks recorded 29 on 40 made baskets.
Atlanta comes out of the preseason healthy and they will be well rested heading into the regular season. The Hawks don't play again until the season opener in Toronto on October 29.
