Hawks vs Nets preview: Atlanta wraps up road trip in Brooklyn

The Atlanta Hawks look to snap a two game losing streak when they take on Joe Johnson and the Brooklyn Nets.

The Atlanta Hawks look to avoid a season-worst three-game losing streak when they take on the Brooklyn Nets Monday night at the Barclays Center. The Hawks have gone 2-3 since Al Horford was lost for the remainder of the season and have seen their offense dip. They will need a bounce back performance against a Brooklyn team that is showing signs of life for the first time this season.

Atlanta fell 101-100 on Friday to the Golden State Warriors thanks to an Andre Iguodala three as time expired. They followed that up on Saturday with another loss, this time to the Chicago Bulls by a score of 91-84. The Hawks shot just 37 percent in Chicago and are shooting just over 40 percent in the five games without Horford.

Finding an offensive rhythm against the Nets will be the key as Brooklyn is 0-16 this season when they allow more than 100 points. The Nets are near the bottom of the league in defensive rating surrendering 106.2 points per 100 possessions. Brooklyn hasn't allowed more than 93 points in each of its last two games.

One of the key match ups in the game will be at the point guard position between Brooklyn's Deron Williams and Atlanta's Jeff Teague. Williams has been instrumental in the Nets' two straight wins averaging 25 points and five assists while going 17-27 from the field.

Teague is averaging over 17 points and seven assists in his last five games. Atlanta's offense has struggled without Horford and they need to get back to the ball movement that made them successful earlier this season.

The Hawks also need Paul Millsap to get back on track offensively. After playing well in the first three games following Horford's injury, Millsap has struggled in the last two. Millsap's averaging just 14 points in the last two games while shooting just 8-32 from the floor. After shooting so well from three-point range to start the season Millsap has gone 2-16 in his last five games.

In addition to Horford, the Hawks will be without John Jenkins who is out with a back injury. The Nets are without Brook Lopez who is out for the season with a broken foot. Tyshawn Taylor is listed as questionable for Monday's game due to a hamstring injury.
