The Bakersfield Jam saw their five game winning streak come to an end on Saturday as they squandered an early lead in falling to the L.A. D-Fenders 107-94.
Bakersfield jumped out to a 32-17 lead at the end of the first quarter but were outscored 90-62 the rest of the way thanks in large part to 32 turnovers. Jared Cunningham finished with 16 points, six rebounds and four assists in 34 minutes for the Jam. Dwight Buycks led Bakersfield with 19 points. Ike Diogu added 15 while Jon Nunnally chipped in 13. Jazz assignee Rudy Gobert finished with eight points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots.
Manny Harris led the D-Fenders with 27 points while Jamario Moon added 20.
Next up for the Jam is a trip to Reno, Nevada for the annual D-League Showcase which begins on Sunday. The D-League Showcase is a five-day, 17-team event where team executives can get a closer look at the entire league and some of the top prospects.
Bakersfield will play in two games during the showcase beginning on Sunday against Sioux Falls and then on Tuesday against the Iowa Energy.
