Jeff Teague injury: X-rays negative on injured ankle

The Atlanta Hawks will officially be without Jeff Teague for, at least, Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks, but X-rays returned negative on his injured left ankle.

Friday night's blowout defeat at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs yielded very few positive results, but the biggest worry as the team emerged from the game was the status of Jeff Teague's ankle. Teague left the game midway through the 2nd quarter with what was later diagnosed as a sprained ankle, but the team did receive a bit of good news in between Friday night's action on Saturday's game with the Milwaukee Bucks.

The assertion that Teague's ankle injury is nothing more than a sprain and that X-rays were negative is a hugely positive one for the Hawks. In the short term, Shelvin Mack and company will still be called upon to keep the ship afloat, but looking down the road, this bodes extremely well for a timely comeback for the team's best guard.

It is important to note that the timetable could be quite fluid (as stated above), but this is the best possible news to see after the way the injury looked on Friday.
