When Jeff Teague left the Atlanta's 105-79 loss to the Spurs on Friday night, he was immediately ruled out for the remainder of the game, but shortly following the final buzzer, his short-term fate was decided.
In his post-game press conference, head coach Mike Budenholzer announced that Teague would not travel on the team's upcoming road trip. The Hawks are set to take on the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night, with the second leg of the journey taking them to Oklahoma City to take on the Thunder on Monday.
Teague's absence could, potentially, stretch for a longer period of time, as ankle injuries (especially to quick, active guards) can notoriously linger, but his full diagnosis won't be known until he is re-evaluated. In his stead, the Hawks will turn to some combination of Shelvin Mack, Dennis Schroder, and Lou Williams to fill those minutes, but with the rotation already quite short-handed without Pero Antic and DeMarre Carroll, it isn't a positive outlook.
Saturday's game against Milwaukee could produce a reprieve for Atlanta, given the quality of opponent, but if the Hawks aren't at full strength against Oklahoma City, it will be a difficult proposition.
