With just under 5 minutes remaining in the 2nd quarter of Friday night's game against the San Antonio Spurs, point guard Jeff Teague hobbled to the locker room with what appeared to be an ankle injury. Shortly after his exit, news broke of his diagnosis.
Jeff Teague has left ankle sprain and will NOT return. #ATLHawks

Teague seemed land awkwardly on the ankle, and it was an immediate departure to the locker room, signaling that he certainly knew that something had gone awry. Before exiting the game, the starting point guard notched 9 points on 4-for-7 shooting and 2 rebounds in 14 minutes of game action.
Additional details should be come available post-game, but in the meantime, the Hawks will look to rebound from an early deficit (Atlanta trailed by 19 when Teague exited) in order to compete with the high-powered Spurs attack. In Teague's absence, look for Coach Budenholzer to use his full array of weapons, as both Dennis Schroder and Shelvin Mack will see considerable time, with James Nunnally and Lou Williams as the recipients of any additional minutes on the wing.
