Heat vs Hawks preview: Atlanta looks to snap streak against Miami

The Atlanta Hawks look to snap a long losing streak to the Miami Heat when the two teams matchup for an afternoon tilt at Philips Arena.

Fresh off of their trip to London, the Atlanta Hawks look to snap a long losing streak against the Miami Heat when the two clubs square off in an MLK Day matinee. The Hawks have lost seven straight at home to the Heat and have not beaten them since 2012.

Miami won both meetings between the two clubs this season despite Dwyane Wade sitting out both. Atlanta pushed them to overtime last time out falling 121-119 thanks in large part to 38 points from LeBron James.

The Heat began their current six-game road trip by losing the first three but have rallied back to win their last two. Miami won at Charlotte on Saturday 104-96 but needed overtime.

Atlanta has gone 4-6 since Al Horford went down and is still searching for answers on both ends of the floor. The Hawks have dropped two straight including a 127-110 loss to Brooklyn in London on Thursday. Atlanta has been a much different team at home this season where they are 14-6. They have won their last two at Philips Arena in impressive fashion knocking off Indiana and Houston.

DeMarre Carroll missed the trip to London due to the birth of his daughter. He is expected to be back in the lineup on Monday and will be tasked with chasing around LeBron James for most of the night. Wade has missed the last two games due to a sore knee while center Chris Anderson has missed the last three. Both will have their status updated closer to tip off.
