Deron Williams injury: Nets guard won't travel to London

One player the Atlanta Hawks won't have to deal with in London is Brooklyn point guard Deron Williams who won't make the trip due to an ankle injury.

The Atlanta Hawks won't have to deal with point guard Deron Williams on Thursday after the Brooklyn Nets announced on Sunday that he won't be making the trip to London because of an ankle injury.

Williams was a late scratch when the Hawks and the Nets met in Brooklyn on January 6. He received cortisone shots in both ankles and sitting out the London game will give him an entire week of recovery time. The Nets still defeated the Hawks 91-86 with Shaun Livingston stepping in for Williams at the point. Brooklyn has gone 3-1 in the four games that Williams has missed.

Pero Antic sat out Sunday's loss with back spasms and his status for the trip is unknown. The injury wasn't described as serious so its hopeful that he can make the trip and play in Thursday's game. The Hawks will leave for London on Monday night.
