The Atlanta Hawks have officially announced that they have signed forward James Nunnally to a 10-day contract. The move was first reported on Friday by D-League Digest's Gino Pilato.
Nunnally comes to Atlanta from the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA D-League where he was averaging 18.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists. He takes the roster spot that was made available when the team waived Cartier Martin on Monday. He will wear No. 2 according to the team press release.
Nunnally is a 6-7 small forward who was in his second year in the D-League. He went undrafted out of UC Santa Barbara and went to training camp with the Phoenix Suns this season.
By rule the Hawks can sign Nunnally to up to two 10-day contracts before having to decide whether or not to sign him for the remainder of the season.
