2013 Eurobasket: Pero Antic, Macedonia drop opener 81-80

The 2013 Eurobasket tournament is underway and Pero Antic and Macedonia fall in their opener 81-80 to Montenegro

The 2013 Eurobasket tournament got underway on Wednesday and Atlanta Hawks forward Pero Antic is part of the Macedonia squad that fell in their opener against Montenegro 81-80. Antic had somewhat of a quiet game finishing with eight points and a game-high six rebounds on 3-9 shooting. Antic went 2-6 from beyond-the-arc including a buzzer beater at the halftime horn.

Tyrese Rice scored 10 of his 16 points in the last 1:44 of the game including a go ahead free throw in the game's final moments to lead Montenegro. Macedonia's Bo McCalebb led all scorers with 23 points while Damjan Stojanovski added 19. Suad Sehovic also finished with 16 points for Montenegro. Macedonia will be back in action again on Thursday when they take on Lithuania.
