DeMarre Carroll officially signs with the Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks have officially announced the signing of free agent forward DeMarre Carroll.

USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Hawks have officially announced the signing of DeMarre Carroll in a team press release bringing their roster total to 14. Carroll originally agreed to a contract in early July but the Hawks held off on his signing while they continued to build their roster. DeShawn Stevenson was reportedly waived earlier on Friday to make room for Carroll.

Carroll appeared in 66 games last season for the Utah Jazz averaging 6.0 points and 2.8 rebounds. He will immediately become a big part of the team's picture at the small forward position. Carroll's contract is for a reported $5 million over two years.

Atlanta has 14 players under contract for next season not counting first round pick Lucas Nogueira who could return to Spain. Shelvin Mack and Mike Scott currently have non-guaranteed deals and could still be waived at some point if the situation called for it.
