NBA Free Agency: Running down your latest Atlanta Hawks rumors

Updating the latest rumors involving the Atlanta Hawks in free agency.

Kevin C. Cox

The NBA Free agency grind has slowed down since the flurry of activity we saw to start the month. However, the wheels are still turning. Here is a look at some of the latest rumors involving the Atlanta Hawks and where they currently stand.

Andrew Bynum

Bynum met with the Cavaliers on Monday and will reportedly do so with both the Hawks and Mavericks later this week. Reports indicate that Cleveland offered Bynum a two-year $24 million contract that included a team option on the second year. The option year would protect the Cavaliers should Bynum's injury issues continue and would allow them to bring him back for a less than market value should he return to health.

Update: SheridanHoops.com reports that Atlanta's meeting with Bynum will take place today.

Brandon Jennings

The Hawks have reportedly have had sign and trade discussions involving Brandon Jennings and Jeff Teague according to various reports. Atlanta issued a qualifying offer to Teague who has found few suitors on the open market. Jennings was reportedly seeking a $12 million a season but might be forced to take less.

Monta Ellis

Reports indicated that the Hawks were in negotiations Ellis but that seemed to cool some after the reports of the potential Jennings-Teague deal surfaced. Currently it looks like the Sacramento Kings are the team chasing Ellis the hardest.

Signings start on July 10

Free agents can actually put pen to paper on July 10 and expect the Hawks and other teams to make official the agreements that were put in place earlier this week. We should get confirmation on the signings of Kyle Korver, Damarre Carroll and Paul Milsap as well as the departures of Josh Smith, Devin Harris and Zaza Pachulia.

Summer League

The Hawks still have not released a full roster for the Vegas Summer League that begins on Friday, July 12. First round pick Dennis Schroeder tweeted that he was in Vegas and will apparently be part of the squad. No word on whether or not Atlanta's other first round selection Lucas Nogueira will be a part of the team or not. The Hawks have not yet disclosed whether Schroeder or Nogueira would be a part of the team's roster next season or if they might remain overseas. Second round pick Mike Muscala is also in Vegas and will play for the Hawks' summer league entry.

Speaking of Summer League. Our own Jason Walker is attending the Orlando Summer League and is giving out his thoughts on Twitter each day. Robby Kalland is headed to Vegas later this week and will be up close and personal with the Hawks' summer league team. If you aren' t following Robby on Twitter be sure to do so.
