According to Alex Kennedy of Hoopsworld (USA Today) the Atlanta Hawks are nearing an agreement with Monta Ellis.

Not sure about years.</p>&mdash; Alex Kennedy (@AlexKennedyNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/AlexKennedyNBA/statuses/354016125912219648">July 7, 2013</a></blockquote>

He continued to say that nothing is finalized, which hopefully means this won't actually happen.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>Nothing is imminent between the Atlanta Hawks and Monta Ellis at this point, but the two sides are engaged in talks.</p>&mdash; Alex Kennedy (@AlexKennedyNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/AlexKennedyNBA/statuses/354017007064186880">July 7, 2013</a></blockquote>

Monta Ellis would seemingly go against everything Danny Ferry has done up to this point. There was so much promise of a change towards rational, analytical thinking in the Hawks front office, and signing Monta would suggest the exact opposite is true.

We'll continue to update as more information comes through.
