The Hawks started the game strong behind a hot shooting start from Dennis Schröder, who had 11 points and four assists in the first half and finished with 16 points, five assists, three steals, and six turnovers. Mike Scott led the Hawks with 19 points and nine rebounds, with 10 of his points coming in the third quarter. Scott said that, like Jenkins, he was given the green light on offense by the coaching staff, which showed as both he and Jenkins had 17 shot attempts apiece.

The Trailblazers comeback was led by CJ McCollum who scored 19 points on 5-of-14 shooting and Thomas Robinson added 13 points and a game-high 17 rebounds. Will Barton added 16 points and eight rebounds and made the game-winning basket with under 20 seconds to play in the game. The Hawks had an opportunity at the end of the game to win, but a miss on a runner in the lane by Mike Muscala sealed the Hawks' fate.

Mike Scott said that the difference between the first half and second half was a simple as the Hawks not knocking down shots and that they stopped playing together.

"We got cold, and didn't play together like we normally did in the first half."

The Hawks will play their final game on Friday afternoon at 3 PM Pacific (6 PM Eastern).
