The Atlanta Hawks once again got off to a good start but were unable to sustain it as they fell to the San Antonio Spurs by a score of 96-87. The loss drops Atlanta to 1-2 at Vegas and completes their preliminary three game schedule. The Hawks will now await Tuesday's results before learning where they fall in the inaugural tournament bracket.
Mike Scott turned in a stellar performance finishing with a game-high 27 points on 7-15 shooting and a perfect 13-13 from the free throw line. John Jenkins added 15 points while Jared Cunningham got his first start and finished with 12. Dennis Schröder finished with eight points and three assists. Lucas Nogueira chipped in six points and nine rebounds.
The Spurs were led by Nando De Colo and Aron Baynes finished with 19 points each. Deshaun Thomas and Marcus Denmon round out San Antonio scorers in double figures with 17 and 14 points each.
