The Atlanta Hawks opened play in the Vegas Summer League on Friday with a 90-83 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. They are back in action on Sunday against the Miami Heat.
John Jenkins led the way for the Hawks in the opener with a game-high 23 points. Lucas Nogueira received his clearance to play from FIBA about 25 minutes before the tip and started finishing with 10 points and eight rebounds. Fellow first round pick Dennis Schröder also started and finished with six points and seven assists.
The Miami Heat are the only NBA team to enter into both the Orlando Summer League and also play in Vegas. They defeated the Toronto Raptors 81-72 on Saturday led by D.J. Kennedy's 16 points.
