CBS Atlanta and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution are reporting that Mookie Blaylock is on life support after being involved in a car accident in Clayton County. The report says that Blaylock's Cadillac Escalade crossed over the median into on-coming traffic as he was travelling on Tara Boulevard in Clayton County and was involved in a head-on collision causing severe injuries. Blaylock is in critical condition, unresponsive, and on life support currently at Atlanta Medical Center according to the Jonesboro Police and AJC report.
Mookie Blaylock is one of the the best point guards in Hawks history and is the Atlanta Hawks career leader in three-point field goals made, steals, and assists per game.
All of us in the Peachtree Hoops family are hoping and praying that Mookie and everyone involved in the wreck make it through this for a full recovery. We will provide updates to the story as they become available. Mookie is 46 years old.
UPDATE: The police say that Mookie has been upgraded to stable condition according to AJC report.

Blaylock has been removed from life support but remains in critical condition at Atlanta Medical Center. Monica Murphy, a passenger in the car that Blaylock struck, died at the hospital from injuries that she suffered in the wreck. At this time, alcohol is not suspected as a cause for the wreck but Blaylock was reportedly under treatment for seizures.
