Mike Budenholzer has been rumored to be the front runner to be the next head coach of the Atlanta Hawks but with the Spurs headed to the NBA Finals, the two sides may have to hold off on a formal announcement. It does appear that there will be window for discussions as David Aldridge is reporting that the Spurs will allow the Hawks to negotiate with Budenholzer if he is their choice as head coach during their nine day break leading up to the Finals.
Spurs will let Hawks negotiate w/assistant Mike Budenholzer during SA's 9-day wait before Finals if he is Atlanta's HC choice, per source.

After a flurry of activity early, rumors into Atlanta's coaching search have gone silent. That in part is due to the belief that Budenholzer is the favorite to replace Larry Drew. We may soon find out over the next nine days if Ferry can successfully lure Budenholzer from Spurs where he has worked since the 94-95 season.
*Update*
Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski also confirms the report:
The Atlanta Hawks are engaged in serious talks with Spurs assistant Mike Budenholzer to make him head coach, league sources tell Y! Sports.
