Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Larry Drew is among three finalists that will be brought back for a second interview with the Milwaukee Bucks. Drew is joined by Rockets assistant Kelvin Sampson and Lakers assistant Steve Clifford.
Drew is under contract with the Hawks through the end of June but has been allowed by the club to seek other opportunities. Hawks general manager Danny Ferry has not ruled out publicly Drew returning to Atlanta but at this point the chances seem remote at best.
In reading Wojnarowski's article it sounds like Drew might have some ground to make up behind Sampson and Clifford. Sampson has the edge of having already worked for the Bucks as an assistant under Scott Skiles and Clifford is a hot name that is gaining traction. Both Sampson and Clifford are also rumored to be in the running for other jobs including Charlotte.
Its not known if Drew has spoken with any other teams that are looking for a head coach. Sampson and Clifford will reportedly meet with the Bucks on Tuesday while Drew will come in on Wednesday.
*Update*
Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Clifford has agreed in principle to become the new head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats. If true that leaves just Sampson and Drew in the running for the Milwaukee job
