The NBA announced on Wednesday that the Las Vegas Summer League will be held this year starting on July 12-22. The Atlanta Hawks will participate again this season with John Jenkins, Mike Scott and Shelvin Mack reportedly participating.
This year's summer league will be a much different set of circumstances for the Hawks who will have a much more vested interest in the roster. In addition to Jenkins, Scott and Mack, Atlanta also has four draft picks in the 2013 Draft and those players will more than likely participate.
Atlanta's summer league entry the last few seasons has more often been a collection of free agents with a draft pick or two sporadically included. Both Jenkins and Scott were a part of the Hawks' entry at Las Vegas last season.
The NBA is also switching up the format this season with each team playing at least five games. After play on July 16 each team will be seeded into a single elimination bracket with a champion being crowned on July 22.
