Josh Smith was a full participant in Tuesday's practice and is expected to be in the starting lineup when the Hawks take the floor in Game 2 of their first-round matchup against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.
"I should be all right," Smith said. "It's still a little sore but it's playoff time and I have to suck it up."
Smith suffered the injury during the third quarter of Game 1 when he inadvertently stepped on teammate Devin Harris' foot. Smith stayed in the game and finished with 15 points eight rebounds and five assists to go along with four turnovers. He clearly wasn't moving as well after the injury.
There is a good chance that Larry Drew may call on Smith to defend Paul George in Game 2 after George torched the Hawks with a triple-double in Game 1. Smith's healthy may play a big part in whether or not Drew is able to go that route in Game 2.
Smith played in 76 games for the Hawks this season and finished with averages of 17.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists.
