Final playoff positioning for the Atlanta Hawks will come down to the final day of the regular season who continue to be more focused on being healthy and rested than on dictating their first round matchup. Atlanta rested most of its starters in Tuesday's loss to the Raptors and didn't rule out doing the same Wednesday night in the season finale against the Knicks.
Atlanta needs a win combined with a Chicago Bulls' loss to the Washington Wizards to secure the fifth seed and a first round matchup against Brooklyn. If Chicago wins or both teams lose, then the Hawks will open up against Indiana as the sixth seed.
Its unknown how the Knicks might approach tonight's game but even if Carmelo Anthony and company play, they are likely to see reduced minutes in a game that has no meaning to New York.
