NBA Standings 2013: Hawks 2 back of Nets in East Standings

The Atlanta Hawks currently find themselves in seventh place in the Eastern Conference but they are just two games back of fourth place Brooklyn.

Entering play on Sunday the Atlanta Hawks are currently in seventh place in the Eastern Conference but are just two games back of the Brooklyn Nets who they will face off against on Sunday night. To go a step further, Atlanta is just three games back of third place New York and 3.5 behind second place Indiana so everything in the East remains close and potential first round matchups change almost daily.

The Hawks sit at 36-29 and have the same record as both Chicago and Boston but the Bulls and the Celtics both currently hold the tie breakers over Atlanta. The Hawks have one game left with the Celtics and seven of their last 17 games are against Brooklyn, New York, Boston and Milwaukee so there is still ample time left to make a move upward in the standings.
