Shelvin Mack is going to stick around a little longer and may have a good shot at sticking through the rest of the season. The Atlanta Hawks announced on Saturday that they had signed Mack to a second 10-day contract.

The Hawks plucked Mack from the D-League and he has appeared in five games for the Hawks totaling eight points and four assists in 30 minutes of action. More importantly he has provided depth at the point guard position as Jeff Teague has nursed an ankle injury. With Teague sidelined, Mack stepped into a backup role and finished with seven points on 3-5 shooting.

At the end of this second 10-day deal the Hawks will have to decide on whether or not to let Mack go or sign him for the remainder of the season per league rules. The Hawks are highly unlikely to go forward with only two options at the point guard position so Mack has a pretty good shot of sticking around.
