Atlanta Hawks point guard Jeff Teague suffered an ankle injury during the third quarter of Tuesday's loss to the Miami Heat. Although the team said he was probable to return, he did not get back into the game after the Heat pulled away in the final period. He is currently listed as questionable for Wednesday's home game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Teague told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution after the game that he was unsure if he would be able to play on Wednesday and that they would have to see how he felt before the game.
Teague finished with 12 points and four assists in the loss to Miami. He is averaging 14.5 points and 7.0 assist per game on the season. If he were to miss any time it would be a big blow to a Hawks team that has lost six of seven and is currently sinking in the Eastern Conference Standings.
Devin Harris would be the likely starter for the Hawks if Teague couldn't play. Shelvin Mack would be the only other point guard on the roster so he could be thrust into action in a back up role.
Teague's status will be updated at some point closer to tonight's tip off.
