The Atlanta Hawks look to head into the All-Star break on a high note after when they take on the Orlando Magic Wednesday night at the Amway Center. The Hawks have won both meetings with the Magic this season and have owned the season series of late.
Including the playoffs, Atlanta has won six straight over Orlando and has taken the last eight regular season contests. The Magic's first season of the post Dwight Howard era has been anything but rosy as they have stumbled to a 15-36 record and recently suffered a 12-game losing streak.
The Hawks have been searching for consistency since a 20-10 start to the season. Atlanta is just 9-12 since January 1 but have won two of their last three and captured a rare 105-101 win in Dallas over the Mavericks on Monday.
Josh Smith led the way in that game finishing with 26 points, 13 rebounds and six assists. Smith's name has been the subject of numerous trade rumors but he is playing some of his best basketball of the season of late averaging 20.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 5.2 assists over his last nine games.
Another player that has been putting up solid numbers is point guard Jeff Teague who added 20 points and nine assists in Monday's win in Dallas. Teague is averaging 20.6 points and 8.6 assists over his last five games while shooting 56 percent from the floor. He has scored at least 20 points in each of his last four games.
The Hawks come into Wednesday's game relatively healthy. Kyle Korver was a game-time decision on Monday with an ankle injury but was able to play off the bench. The Magic will be without both Al Harrington and Glen Davis who are out but could get back Hedo Turkoglu who is listed as questionable.
