Trade rumors are continuing to swirl around Josh Smith with the Brooklyn Nets reportedly pushing hard to acquire Atlanta's star forward. ESPN.com's Chris Broussard is reporting that acquiring Smith is a priority for the Nets but the two teams aren't yet close to a deal.
The reported trade would have the Hawks receiving Kris Humphries and Marshon Brooks in exchange for Smith. The report suggests that Atlanta is also asking for a first-round pick to be included in the deal. The report also speculates that the deal could be expanded into including Anthony Morrow in the deal which is a player that has had a hard time finding his way onto the court for Atlanta.
Previous reports indicated that the Hawks were looking for a big in return for Smith. Humphries is on the books for for $12 million next season and could be an attractive trade piece somewhere down the road. Brooks would potentially give the Hawks a prospect at shooting guard.
The trade deadline is just 10-days away and rumors continue to swirl around Smith who will be an unrestricted free agent at season's end.
