Kyle Korver is awesome.
To date, Kyle Korver has hit a three-pointer in 77 straight games, fourth longest in league history, according to the Hawks PR dept.
He trails Dana Barros (89 games), Michael Adams (79) and Dennis Scott (78) on the all-time list and Peachtree Hoops is going full-on, baseball hitting streak style coverage the rest of the way, Bob Rathbun-like jinxes be danged!
Also, according to Hawks PR, Korver's 3FG% during the run is .468 (202-432), while Barros shot .442 (217-491), Scott .427 (253-593) and Adams .364 (193-530) during their streaks, so obviously Korver's is the better streak.
Korver's previous career best streak was 28 straight contests from 11/16/05-1/13/06 and this is, by the list above, also the longest in Hawks history, as he has surpassed Mookie Blaylock's 42-game streak (3/26/96-1/11/97).
Hawks PR also notes that Korver is sixth among active NBA players (12th in league history) in 3FG% (.420) and is 14th among active players (28th all-time NBA/ABA history) in total three-pointers with 1336. So, you know, the guy is good.
If Korver hits a three against the Nuggets Thursday night in Denver, he will tie 3-D, Dennis Scott, and then can tie Adams on November 9th at home against Orlando. To get to Barros, he'll have to get through 10 more games, potentially tying him in Houston and then the record-breaker in the ATL against the Mavericks.
